Doug Cummings is a trial lawyer with over 40 years of experience representing parties in divorce, custody, paternity, child support and guardianship cases. He is licensed to practice law in both Minnesota and South Dakota. Doug is a family law mediator and focuses on all issues related to divorce and child custody matters. Doug graduated from Yankton College, then attended the University of South Dakota School of Law, graduating in 1976. He was then the first staff attorney hired by East River Legal Services in 1977. Doug practiced law as Cummings Legal Clinic from 1982 to 1993. He then returned to ERLS as Executive Director, retiring in 2017 after nearly 30 years with the program.
