James Ryan represents individuals and corporations in state and federal court, as well as before administrative agencies. Jim has litigated civil cases since 1984, representing both plaintiffs and defendants, and has served as a mediator since 2001, in cases involving a wide variety of legal claims. As a mediator, Jim has served in more than 600 cases as of May, 2025, with 84% settling at the mediation with a signed settlement agreement. He has served as mediator in a wide variety of civil cases, including: Commercial, Contract, Employment, Workplace, and Partnership Disputes. Jim also has an active appellate practice, and has served as a special master at court request to resolve discovery disputes, and is licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
