Jim Lingl
Condominium/HOA Mediator
Mediator · Attorney
James P. (Jim) Lingl devotes most of his professional time to conducting mediations and arbitrations with an emphasis in high conflict nonprofit organizations, homeowner association and real estate disputes, with experience in personal injury, employment law and probate matters. More broadly, Jim is a strong advocate for community mediation and seeks to make it 'top of mind' whenever quality of life issues cause conflict in person's lives. Jim has extensive legal experience both as a litigator and as a transactional attorney. Between 1983 and 2008, he led a law firm focused primarily on Community Association law, where he represented over 600 homeowner associations between San Luis Obispo to San Diego Counties and more than 200 individual homeowners in disputes with their associations. His extensive experience in handling these complex interpersonal conflicts, helped to shape his “facilitative to evaluative” mediation style. Jim serves as a mediator for the Ventura County Superior Court, for the Ventura Center for Dispute Settlement, and in his private practice, with more than 700 successful mediations completed. In addition, Jim has represented more than 200 individuals as their 'advocate' in various mediations.
