After spending over a decade at Chenault Hammond, PC, learning from the best, Laura Terry Powell decided to establish her own firm focusing primarily on family law. Laura also offers mediation services in-office in Madison, Morgan, Limestone and Lawrence Counties, and by travel across Alabama. After graduating from Cumberland School of Law one semester early in 2010, Laura joined the Alabama Bar and Chenault Hammond team as soon as possible in 2011. Six years later, Ms. Powell received her AV-Preeminent® rating, the highest peer rating standard by Martindale Hubbell. Laura was awarded Martindale-Hubbell’s Client Champion Award in the year of its inception, 2017, and each year since. In 2021, Laura was rated by Super Lawyers Magazine as a “Rising Star” for the Mid-South region. On February 2, 2022, she took the leap, hung her shingle, and opened Terry Powell Law Firm, LLC.
