Brock Hotaling
Connecticut Mediation Association
Commercial Mediator
Mediation is a consensual process in which participants work together with the facilitation of an impartial, trained third party such as mediator Brock Hotaling, to address the conflict. The outcomes of a professional mediation process are not only a tiny fraction of the cost of litigation or arbitration, but often find the participants mending relationships to move forward together. During the mediation process, Brock helps build the skills necessary to boost confidence, improve empathy, enhance critical thinking and enable negotiation and teamwork. With a career that spans 40 years, Brock Hotaling now dedicates himself to alternative dispute resolution, specializing in commercial, community, financials, relationships, family, and technology disputes, both resolution and prevention. His experience in system dynamics and systems anthropology gives an added dimension to his mediation capabilities, enabling the discovery of root causes and thus correcting situations before they rise to the level of conflict. As the founder of Coflict LLC (coflict.org), he and his team practice preventive and transformative mediation, with its tool-set of fair and non-confrontational interactive activities to discover and proactively remove future dysfunction or strife. Brock also has 35 years of experience in resolving financial and technology issues and disputes for corporations, small businesses, non-profits and individuals. He's worked extensively in Europe, Africa, Asia and North America while using his financial, behavioral, and technology expertise to help remove barriers to success and achieve objectives in a timely fashion.
