Approach
How we collaborate
I believe very strongly about a great deal of preparation as well as individual consultations with the participants prior to the mediation. This helps me get a grasp on interests and needs, and allows me to build a level of trust and confidence with the participants. I focus particularly on whether there are any expert or technical differences among the participants. If there is I will spend time with those experts and the participants before the mediation to find common ground and mutual understanding of those issues and opinions. I believe Zoom can be a very cost effective way to accomlish alot of the premediation work. I use at least an initial joint session followed by party caucusing and eventually helping to develop and communicate proposals for resolution among the participants.
Highly technical matters specializing in resolving complex issues with conflicting technical opinions in the engineering and construction industry.
