About & Mediation Philosophy

Neutral Profile

Kimberly Roberts is a recognized commercial real estate (CRE) and construction attorney with more than 20 years of experience. Ms. Roberts maintains a private law practice and currently acts as an arbitrator and mediator in the practice areas where she has experience. Ms. Roberts has significant office leasing experience. During the financial downturn of the early 2000s she was part of a team that assisted a global insurance brokerage firm with centralizing their operations which involved rightsizing its Class A office footprint of more than 300 offices in the U.S. Her role involved negotiating early termination, partial surrender, and relocation agreements nationwide, in addition to negotiating new leases. Ms. Roberts is available to assist companies with similar restructuring goals in today’s office market. Ms. Roberts’ recent practice involves negotiating and drafting complex CRE acquisition, disposition, and commercial lease agreements of all product types, including multifamily, affordable housing, retail, mixed-use, hospitality, industrial, office, and development projects. She also negotiates and drafts construction, telecommunications, and service contracts. In the past 10 years, Ms. Roberts has handled more than 1.5 billion dollars in CRE transactions working in-house for private equity investors, including Colony Capital and Avanath Capital. She also has extensive law firm experience regarding complex multi-party construction litigation, and has significant experience handling distressed debt matters including foreclosures and loan workouts regarding commercial mortgages. Ms. Roberts is unique in that she has extensive experience as both a litigation and transactional attorney. She holds the prestigious CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation and previously owned and operated a commercial real estate investment and development firm. This background brings a distinctive and valuable perspective to her Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) practice.
