Frequently Asked Questions
How do I request an appointment with a mediator?
Navigate to any mediator profile page and use the "Book an Appointment" or "Request Availability" widget on the right sidebar. You can select your preferred mediation format (video, in-person, phone) and propose tentative dates. The mediator or their case manager will review your matter details and follow up directly.
How do I propose a mediator to opposing counsel?
Every mediator profile features a "Propose to Opposing Counsel" action in the booking widget. Clicking it copies a pre-formatted message with a direct link to the mediator profile, ready to paste into an email or joint counsel conference communication.
How do I claim an existing mediator profile?
If you are a practicing mediator with a profile on BookMediators that is marked "Unclaimed profile", click the "Claim this profile" button on your profile page. Sign in or create an account with your official bar/firm email address to verify ownership and gain full dashboard access.
Are mediator fees paid through BookMediators?
BookMediators facilitates inquiry scheduling, calendar holds, and fee transparency through published rate cards. Billing and retainer terms are established directly between counsel, parties, and the mediator or ADR provider per their stated cancellation and fee policies.
Can I book remote video mediations nationwide?
Yes. Mediators with the "Remote available" badge conduct hearings over secure video conference platforms (Zoom, WebEx, Teams) for parties and counsel regardless of geographic location.
